Comcast-Spectacor Foundation/Flyers Charities
The principal focus of the Comcast-Spectacor Foundation is to support non-profit organizations that provide educational and recreational resources to underserved youth and to causes that engage in medical research and other important healthcare initiatives.
As producers of this annual event, the Comcast-Spectacor Foundation invites you to join us in a memorable day mingling & golfing with your favorite celebrity Flyers celebrities. Our inaugural event, the 2008 Mike Knuble Celebrity Golf Invitational, helped raise funds for local non-profit organizations, such as Charlie's Fight and Camden Rescue Mission. Meet Philadelphia Flyers team members off the ice in this unique VIP event! Participants will be granted exclusive opportunities to bid on one-of-a kind trips and auction items.

Individual golfer packages may become available after August 17, 2009 and will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Individual golfer packages are not guaranteed to have a celebrity on their team.

Philadelphia Flyers Compete In 1st Annual Mike Knuble Celebrity Golf Invitational
September 11, 2008: Under sunny skies, Flyers forward Mike Knuble hosted the Mike Knuble Celebrity Golf Invitational, presented by Dave & Busters, Inc., on September 11, at Talamore Country Club, a premier 18-hole golf course in Ambler, PA.
The first-ever Flyers Charities golf tournament featured exciting contests, tee prizes, a silent and live auction, a reception, and an awards ceremony hosted by Knuble and Flyers broadcaster Steve Coates. Flyers players Martin Biron, Jeff Carter, Simon Gagne, Scott Hartnell, Mike Richards, Kimmo Timonen, cottie Upshall, and others joined Knuble for a funfilled day on the course, for charity. The Comcast-Spectacor Foundation and the Mike Knuble Family Foundation donated proceeds of the tournament to local charities including Charlies Fight for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
The Mike Knuble Family Foundation is proud to have teamed up with the Comcast-Spectacor Foundation and Dave & Busters to make this an unforgettable experience for everyone, said Knuble. My family and I were excited to be a part of this event. Its important to give back to the community and help local charities.
The golf tournament was a unique experience as each foursome played with a Flyers celebrity.
We were thrilled to have our three Philadelphia locations involved in such a worthy cause, said Bill Finkel, Dave & Busters Philadelphia General Manager. It was our privilege to be the title sponsor of the Mike Knuble Celebrity Golf Invitational. The Philadelphia community has given so much to our locations, and we are excited to give back. Auction items included resort stays, fine dining, autographed memorabilia, and a trip for two on the Flyers team plane to an away game with hotel and game tickets provided.
